Luis Severino Leaves Friday's Start With Side Issue
8 months agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino was pulled from Friday's start versus the Milwaukee Brewers due to a left side injury and he will undergo diagnostic testing on Saturday. The 29-year-old was in visible discomfort while favoring his left side and had to come out of the game before recording an out in the fifth inning. Severino allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts in four innings before his night ended. It remains to be seen if the oft-injured right-hander is dealing with an oblique strain, which could end what has been a fall from grace in 2023 for the former Yankees ace. Severino has staggered to a career-worst 6.65 ERA and 1.65 WHIP with 79 punchouts during 89 1/3 frames this year.
