Logan Webb Rattled For Season-Worst Six Runs In Loss
9 months agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb allowed six runs on five hits and one walk with two strikeouts in just 1 1/3 innings for his eighth loss of the year on Saturday against the Washington Nationals. The 26-year-old stumbled through the shortest start of his career in this one, registering only four outs. Webb threw a clean opening frame before utterly collapsing with a six-run second inning where all the damage to his ledger was inflicted. The right-hander initially permitted two runs on three singles along with a free pass before an Alex Call two-RBI triple and a CJ Abrams two-run jack would send Webb packing. The blow-up dented Webb's season ERA from 3.14 to 3.48 (134 1/3 frames), enough for his worst figure since early May. The soft-tosser aims to rebound in his next time out slated for Friday at home versus the Boston Red Sox.
