Kyle Schwarber Reaches Five Times, Powers Friday's Win
9 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies left fielder Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and three walks in Friday's 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 30-year-old doubled during the first frame before being caught trying to steal his first base of the campaign. Schwarber's third-inning two-run jack ultimately proved to be enough in the scoring column for Philly on a night Zack Wheeler was dealing. The slugger then drew three free passes (one intentional) to reach base safely five times on the evening. Schwarber has been his usual three-true-outcome self in 2023, slashing .186/.317/.437 with 27 four-baggers, 64 RBI, and 60 runs scored in 382 at-bats.
