Kyle Freeland Set For Bullpen Session On Saturday
9 months agoAfter launching a bullpen session on Wednesday, Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland (shoulder) is scheduled for another one on Saturday. The 30-year-old has been shelved by right shoulder subluxation since July 14, but it appears as though his return is near. Skipper Bud Black believes Freeland could be activated off the injured list "potentially next weekend". It sounds like Freeland may not require a rehab assignment before re-entering the rotation. Saddled with 10 losses across 19 starts this year, the southpaw's 4.72 ERA and 1.45 WHIP (103 innings) don't justify him as a great fantasy stash overall. Freeland could be an adequate streamer, though, if he does indeed return at some juncture during next weekend's three-game set with the Oakland Athletics.
