Kutter Crawford To Stick In The Rotation
11 months agoBoston Red Sox right-handed pitcher Kutter Crawford will remain a part of the team's starting rotation going forward. Boston turns to a six-man rotation with Chris Sale (shoulder) on the 60-day IL and several swingmen in their pitching staff. It puts Crawford on the deep-league radar with room to grow, holding a decent 3.68 ERA and 1.01 WHIP plus 36 strikeouts over 36 2/3 innings this season. It may not be long before the 27-year-old is fully stretched out, either, as he withstood 6 1/3 innings back on April 17. Crawford possesses a superb 4.1% walk rate to go with a soft 85.7% average exit velocity against. The righty leads all starting pitchers with 62 chases over their last 300 pitches. Crawford is positioned to deal to the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, when he will denote a very plausible streaming option.
