Kenley Jansen Faces Hitters Before Saturday’s Game
8 months agoBoston Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen (hamstring) threw to hitters before Saturday's game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's a promising development after it was reported the 35-year-old was expected to miss the rest of this series. Though, it doesn't necessarily mean Jansen will be available on Saturday for a save chance if it presents itself. Fantasy managers should monitor the situation this weekend, but it's becoming increasingly likely the right-hander dodges the injured list. Jansen was pulled from Wednesday's ninth-inning appearance against the Houston Astros after one out due to right hamstring tightness. Look for Chris Martin, Josh Winckowski, or Garrett Whitlock to be called upon for any potential save situations for however long Jansen may remain unavailable.
