Jose Altuve Extends Hitting Streak In Loss
9 months agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and an additional run scored in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. The 33-year-old grounded out to start the outing, but proceeded to reach base four times in each of his remaining at-bats. Altuve's seventh-inning homer would make the contest a one-run game, but Houston ultimately couldn't keep pace with Baltimore in the defeat. The three-time batting champion's hitting streak has now reached 12 games, and Altuve is batting a robust .420 (21-for-50) with three homers, seven RBI, and 15 runs scored across this span. Fantasy managers hope the perennial All-Star is beginning to find a rhythm at the dish while being limited to 45 games of action to this point by thumb and oblique injuries.
