Jorge Polanco 2024 Player Outlook: Health The Only Holdup
9 months agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco has endured back-to-back injury-plagued seasons as a bad knee has capped his fantasy value of late. However, there has been absolutely nothing wrong with his production when on the field. The 30-year-old has hit .244 with 30 home runs, seven stolen bases, a 12.7% BB%, and a .768 OPS across 184 games over the last two seasons, excellent totals for a player dealing with a knee issue. After playing in just 30 games prior to the All-Star break in 2023, Polanco posted an .817 OPS with nine homers and three steals in just 50 games after the break, good for a tidy 128 wRC+. Projected to hit third in the Mariners' order, Polanco is projected for 21 homers, six steals, 65 runs, and 68 RBI across 125 games in 2024. If he can stay healthy (and exceed the games played projection) he is offering fantastic value at the second-base position with an undervalued 253.17 ADP.
