John Collins Downgraded To Out Wednesday
5 months agoUtah Jazz forward John Collins (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks. Collins needs another night to recover from a non-COVID illness that also cost him Monday's tilt against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Utah's back-to-back set includes a road matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday, marking the dynamic Collins' next chance for a return to the court. Kelly Olynyk logged two points, six rebounds, and three assists in 20 minutes during Monday's start, while 2023 first-round rookie Taylor Hendricks received a season-high 26 minutes off head coach Will Hardy's bench amid garbage time in the 134-120 loss. The expected returns of big men Lauri Markkanen (hamstring) and Walker Kessler (knee) on Wednesday should significantly eat into the playing time of both men, though.
