Joel Embiid Iffy With Hip Soreness Again
6 months agoPhiladelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (hip) is questionable once again for Friday's In-Season Tournament game against the Atlanta Hawks. Left hip soreness couldn't keep Embiid out of either end of Philly's back-to-back set on Tuesday and Wednesday, so it would be remotely surprising to see him sidelined with the issue on Friday. If all goes well during morning shootaround and pregame warmups, the five-time All-NBA big man should be able to go for the 8-3 Sixers in Atlanta. Despite a season-low 20 points on Wednesday, Embiid is registering top-five fantasy numbers with 31.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.8 dimes, and 1.7 blocks per game. With Nicolas Batum (personal) still absent, some combination of role players Robert Covington, Paul Reed, and Marcus Morris Sr. would likely be called upon to help fill Embiid's void if he needs to sit out on Friday.
