Joe Musgrove Reaches Sixth Inning For First Time In 2023
11 months agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove may have pitched his best game of the year in Friday's 5-1 triumph over the New York Yankees. He hurled 6.1 innings, struck out six batters, and allowed just one run en route to his second win of the campaign. The 30-year-old is in dire need of some consistency following a very slow start to the season after coming off the injured list in late April. Musgrove still has work to do to polish up his 5.64 ERA, but Friday's effort was rather encouraging. The right-hander lines up on Thursday to battle the Miami Marlins, a team he owns a commanding 2.64 ERA in 30.2 career innings opposing.
