Jeff McNeil Heating Up, Homers In Win
9 months agoNew York Mets second baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Friday's 7-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. The 31-year-old singled in a third-inning run before rapping a three-run jack in the seventh inning. McNeil's recent climb might be too little too late for the Mets, but the 2022 batting champion is at least starting to resemble the hitter he was a year ago. In 14 games since Aug. 4, McNeil is hitting .321 (17-for-53) with three homers, two doubles, and 11 RBI. Fantasy managers in need of average can turn to the contact-hitting McNeil while he's raking, but don't expect much in the way of power or speed going forward.
