Jasson Dominguez Increases Throwing To 120 Feet
4 weeks agoNew York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (elbow) has increased his throwing to 120 feet. Dominguez began taking swings from both sides of the plate in mid-March and resumed hitting right-handed on Feb. 26. The 20-year-old switch-hitter is taking steps forward in his recovery from Sep. 20 Tommy John surgery back, and the Yankees believe he could play in minor-league rehab games sometime in April or May. Although there's a crowded outfield in the Bronx, Dominguez should be able to log consistent at-bats as the designated hitter and is expected to be available later this summer. After New York's No. 1 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, tantalized with a .258/.303/.677 triple-slash line, four home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base across just 31 ABs a season ago, his progress is something fantasy managers need to keep a close eye on. Giancarlo Stanton is off to a rough 3-for-20 start and could eventually be pushed for DH playing time.
