J.D. Martinez Still Not Ready To Return Sunday
9 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez (hamstring), who remained out on Saturday, is not likely to be in Sunday's lineup versus the Colorado Rockies, but should be available to pinch-hit. The 35-year-old hopes to finally return to the starting lineup on Tuesday for the start of a three-game set with the Milwaukee Brewers. Martinez's balky left hamstring will have cost him a week's worth of action by Sunday's close, and his expected return has been delayed multiple times now following an injection on Wednesday. In any event, the six-time All-Star has looked rejuvenated in LA, hitting .260 with an .870 OPS, 25 home runs, 22 doubles, and 76 RBI amid 339 at-bats this year.
