J.D. Davis Shakes Off Ankle Sprain For Pinch-Hit Grand Slam
11 months agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman J.D. Davis (ankle) may not have returned to Saturday's lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI off the bench. The 30-year-old was one of two Giants players to collect five RBI alongside LaMonte Wade Jr. as part of the squad's 15-0 demolition of the divisional rivals in this one. Davis had missed the previous two games with an ankle sprain, but he looked no worse for wear on Saturday with this huge effort. It wouldn't be surprising to see the hard-hitting infielder return to the fold for Sunday's contest. Davis is slashing a potent .354/.458/.521 with one homer and 11 RBI over his last 48 at-bats.
