Hornets Rule Out Gordon Hayward Tuesday
6 months agoThe Charlotte Hornets have downgraded forward Gordon Hayward (hamstring) to out for Tuesday's game versus the Miami Heat. Hayward went from probable to questionable before finally being ruled out with a right hamstring strain. The 33-year-old looks like his All-Star self so far this year, returning fifth-round 9-category worth in 12-team formats with 17.2 points, 5.2 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. The rebuilding Hornets have to love what they're getting out of Hayward, who is boosting his prospective trade value while riding an expiring contract. Charlotte continues a five-game homestand on Friday versus the Milwaukee Bucks. With No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller (ankle) also ailing with Hayward on the bench, JT Thor could be gearing up for big minutes in head coach Steve Clifford's banged-up rotation against the Heat. Bryce McGowens should also be more involved in Tuesday's In-Season Tournament affair.
