Freddy Peralta Fans 13 Over Six Scoreless Innings
9 months agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta permitted four hits and matched a career high with 13 strikeouts in six shutout innings versus the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday, but didn't factor into the decision. The 27-year-old was simply masterful in this one, punching out the side in the opening frame to get the show on the road. Milwaukee couldn't get on the board until the seventh inning, leaving Peralta with a tough-luck no-decision. It's been an inconsistent season for the right-hander, who's given up multiple runs in each of his last 11 starts not facing the Reds. In any event, Peralta now holds an improved 4.46 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 131:43 K:BB over 109 innings pitched this year. The former All-Star sets up for a matchup with the Washington Nationals on Monday. Peralta owns a 7.29 ERA in five career appearances (21 IP) against the Nats, which is his worst figure vs. any NL club.
