Edward Cabrera Slated For Rehab Game On Saturday
10 months agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (shoulder) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Jupiter on Saturday as he works his way back from a right-shoulder impingement. The 23-year-old will toss about three innings or 45 pitches. Cabrera experienced shoulder pain during his June 13 start while struggling against the Seattle Mariners. Cabrera then hit the injured list on June 17 and was unable to shake the injury in between starts, requiring time on the mend. The dynamic right-hander carries tons of fantasy potential, but a dreadful 14.1% walk rate has plagued him this year. Nonetheless, the rest of Cabrera's peripherals, including a 28.9% strikeout rate, profile him as an upside stash across all fantasy leagues. He figures to be activated at some time not far post-All-Star break.
