Derrick White Away From Team Monday
1 week agoBoston Celtics guard Derrick White (personal) won't play on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets for personal reasons. White was also absent for consecutive games on Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 while tending to a personal matter, so hopefully all is well on his end. The Celtics will hope that the 29-year-old defensive glue guy can return to the court by the time a showdown with the Milwaukee Bucks rolls around on Wednesday. White remains a key cog to Boston's star-studded lineup, averaging 13.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.4 three-pointers during 31.3 minutes through 11 contests. Al Horford (rest) would have been a candidate to start in White's absence, but the veteran big man is also sitting out for rest purposes. It leaves head coach Joe Mazzulla with role players Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard as options for expanded roles and possible DFS budget choices for fantasy players on Monday.
