Bryan De La Cruz Hurts Ankle On Friday
8 months agoMiami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz (ankle) departed Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves due to right ankle discomfort. The 26-year-old came up hobbled while legging out a groundball during the third inning. De La Cruz went 1-for-2 with an RBI and one run scored before Garrett Hampson replaced him in left field. He should be considered day-to-day until we know more on his status. De La Cruz has carried value in NL-only leagues as a fixture in Miami's heart of the order throughout the campaign, hitting .254 with 19 home runs, 74 RBI, 58 runs scored, and three stolen bases through 535 at-bats. Jesus Sanchez and Jon Berti could also slide to left to help plug the hole there if De La Cruz is facing an extended absence.
