Anthony Santander Set For X-Rays After Hit-By-Pitch
8 months agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder/first baseman Anthony Santander (hand) was forced from Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after being struck in the right hand by a pitch. The 28-year-old was pulled following his ninth-inning at-bat for Ryan McKenna after going 1-for-4, and Santander is headed for precautionary X-rays to determine the extent of the damage. However, Orioles skipper Brandon Hyde believes Santander came away without suffering a significant injury. Fantasy managers should be relieved to hear this, but Santander could get Sunday off anyway. The switch-hitting slugger's bat has caught fire of late, hitting .366 (15-for-41) with five home runs, four doubles, and 14 RBI in his last 10 outings. Colton Cowser could see more action in addition to McKenna if Santander needs to miss time.
