Andrew Heaney’s Start Shortened By Illness Saturday
9 months agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Andrew Heaney (illness) was apparently limited during Saturday's start against the San Francisco Giants due to an illness. The 32-year-old only logged four outs before being pulled after 40 pitches, giving up one run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy disclosed after the game that Heaney came down with a cold and missed his bullpen session earlier this week as reasoning for the short leash. Fantasy managers should view Heaney's Saturday showing to be a blip on the radar, and he should be fine for his next scheduled start on Friday versus the Milwaukee Brewers. The erratic southpaw owns a 4.17 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 119:47 K:BB through 114.1 innings this season.
