Andrew Heaney Tries To Right The Ship Against Twins
8 months agoThe Texas Rangers and starting pitcher Andrew Heaney aim to snap the team's six-game losing streak when they commence a four-game set with the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. The 32-year-old has been awfully inconsistent this season, failing to reach the fifth inning in both of his previous starts and ultimately compiling a 4.27 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 122 strikeouts in 118 innings overall. Heaney may very well have a decent opportunity to get back on track in this one against Minnesota, who the southpaw displays a 1.96 ERA with 20 punchouts in 18 1/3 frames opposing since 2021. Heaney can be an erratic fantasy play, but his K upside makes him worth a gamble for season-long managers against a Twins team that has struck out more times than any other club in 2023.
