DraftKings DFS Guards
Trae Young - PG, ATL v. GS ($10,500)
Things haven’t exactly been cheery as of late of for the Atlanta Hawks. Fortunately, Young remains one of the game’s most dynamic young stars, partly due to the fact that he turns into a one-man army on a nightly basis without running mate John Collins on the floor. Young has averaged 56.6 DraftKings points per contest over his last five outings, scoring no fewer than 29 points in any of those games, including a 47-point eruption versus an excellent Indiana defense. As for Golden State? These aren’t the Warriors you’re accustomed to, of course. They’re not only playing on the second leg of a back-to-back, they’re also yielding the second-most makes from behind the arc on a nightly basis (13.5). Young’s price tag is steep, but he will have ample opportunities to soar past the 5x mark in a game that boasts an over/under of 222.5 as of Monday morning.
Dennis Smith Jr. - PG, NY @ MIL ($3,200)
This selection is based entirely upon the idea that both Elfrid Payton and Frank Ntilikina will be out of the rotation for New York, something that owners will need to confirm prior to tip-off. After Ntilikina left Sunday’s game early due to a back injury, Smith stepped in and played 38 minutes, leading to 32.8 DK points. Even with head coach David Fizdale and his far from consistent rotations at the helm, it’s difficult to imagine both Payton and Ntilikina missing the game and Smith not seeing at the very minimum 20-25 minutes, which may be all that owners need to capitalize on a value play this drastic.
DraftKings DFS Forwards
Dillon Brooks - SG/SF, MEM v. IND ($5,200)
Playing without both JA Morant and Jonas Valanciunas on Sunday, Brooks dropped 26 points on 9-for-18 shooting, leading to 34.5 DK points. The team will definitively be without Morant again Monday, which opens the door for Brooks to continue seeing an increased offensive workload. While the Pacers are a defensive buzzsaw that lock down opposing wings, Brooks’ upside at that price is going to be difficult to ignore, as he is likely to once again lead the Memphis offense.
James Ennis - SF/PF, PHI v. UTA ($3,800)
The absence of Josh Richardson has paved the way for Ennis to see some additional run over the past two games, a trend that is likely to continue Monday with Richardson doubtful to take the floor. Ennis has seen his price tag increase incrementally from its former low level, but for a wing that contributes across the stat sheet, shoots threes and will likely see 25-30 minutes of run, this current price is too low to ignore, even against an elite Jazz defensive unit. Fitting Ennis into cash lineups seems to be the safest play in order to spend up on other positions.
DraftKings DFS Centers
Aron Baynes - C, PHX @ CHA ($5,4o0)
There are a few high-priced options that owners may certainly choose to target at the center spot instead, but put simply, picking able-bodied centers against the Hornets is always a safe call. The 58.1 DK points per game that Charlotte is yielding to opposing centers is the third-highest point total across any position in the entire league. While Baynes has been dealing with a calf ailment, he is probable to play Monday and has had two days off since last taking the floor. At 224.5, Suns/Hornets boasts the highest over/under total of any game on the slate, which should lend to Baynes seeing numerous rebounding and scoring chances, a worthy gamble at his price tag.
