Royce Lewis Takes Batting Practice On Friday
10 months agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis (oblique) revealed to reporters that he took batting practice on Friday and he has been throwing each day since the All-Star break. The 24-year-old also said he's not experiencing any pain, but that this situation is being taken carefully to minimize any possible setbacks. Lewis overcame right knee surgery to initially get the ball rolling on his 2023 season, so Minnesota wants to err on the side of caution once again with the former No. 1 overall pick. Lewis has resided on the injured list since July 2 with a left oblique strain. Depending on how quickly he ramps up baseball activity, fantasy managers could justifiably expect the rookie back in early-to-mid August. Lewis should be stashed wherever possible; he was batting a very promising .326 with an .827 OPS, four home runs, 15 RBI, and one stolen base in 95 at-bats this year.
