Zack Greinke Puts Bow On Spry-Looking May
11 months agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Zack Greinke tossed five scoreless innings of two-hit ball and matched a season-high with six strikeouts against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. The 39-year-old settled for a no-decision in a 2-1 defeat. Greinke improved his ERA to 4.19 and WHIP to 1.14 this year. The right-hander's soft stuff sometimes gets him hit very hard, but the former Cy Young award winner let in two runs or fewer in five of six starts in May for a 2.30 ERA in the month. Next Tuesday, Greinke visits the Miami Marlins, a team he is undefeated against (7-0) with a 3.06 ERA in twelve career starts. The Fish are the only team the 20-year veteran has never taken a loss from in his illustrious career.
