Zac Gallen Labors, Can’t Escape Fourth Inning
11 months agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen may have had his worst start of the year in Friday's debacle against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He matched his season-worst with five earned runs allowed, permitted a season-high four walks, and fanned a season-low two batters in the loss. It ends an eight-game undefeated streak for the 27-year-old hurler, who was electric in his last seven starts in assembling a pristine 1.16 ERA with 60 punchouts. DFS players who paid the premium price for Gallen are likely none too pleased with Friday's fiasco. Things won't get much easier for the workhorse righty in season-long leagues when Gallen battles the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday.
