Zac Gallen Adds To Home Dominance In Win
10 months agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen fired seven innings of one-run ball in Friday's 7-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 27-year-old struck out five hitters and allowed four hits en route to his 11th win of the season. The only significant damage to Gallen's ledger was a Jared Triolo double which was ultimately driven in by a Tucupita Marcano single during the fifth frame. The right-hander was outstanding at Chase Field once again, now boasting a 1.48 ERA over 67 innings covering 10 home starts this year. Gallen has also withstood seven frames in four of his last five appearances. The 2023 All-Star caps off his first half with a marvelous 3.04 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 125:23 K:BB across an MLB-high 118 1/3 innings this campaign. Gallen should take the hill at some time next weekend for a tough draw against the Toronto Blue Jays.
