Tommy Edman Still Experiencing Wrist Pain
2 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Oli Marmol said the club is evaluating the rehabilitation plan for outfielder/infielder Tommy Edman, who is still experiencing pain in his surgically-repaired right wrist. More clarity is coming later on Saturday, Marmol said. Edman spent nearly a month on the injured list in 2023 due to right wrist inflammation and underwent arthroscopic wrist surgery last October, having not yet appeared in any spring training games thus far. The 28-year-old switch hitter appears likely to open 2024 on the injured list at this point, so fantasy managers should start thinking about fading Edman until his 176.7 Yahoo ADP comes down a bit, despite the speedy Gold Glover tallying 40 combined homers and stolen bases in 2023. Until Brendan Donovan starts playing on defense, St. Louis' outfield should feature Alec Burleson, Dylan Carlson, and Jordan Walker from left to right to begin the campaign if Edman isn't ready to go.
