Teams Calling Bulls About Zach LaVine's Availability
6 months agoThe Athletic's Shams Charania hears that "NBA teams are probing the availability of Chicago Bulls two-time All-Star guard Zach LaVine and there is increased openness from both sides about exploring a trade." LaVine is no stranger to trade murmurs after he was linked to the New York Knicks, among others, at the 2022-23 trade deadline. The 4-7 Bulls are essentially in no man's land in terms of title contention with star guard Lonzo Ball (knee) likely shelved for another year. The front office's intended direction when it comes to buying or selling at this year's February deadline should remain in a state of flux and be dictated by the team's record by that stage. Fellow All-Star DeMar DeRozan (on an expiring contract) is a candidate to be on the chopping block for Chicago if the club continues to underperform as well. LaVine, on the other hand, is under team control until at least 2025-26, so they may be inclined to budge only for an offer they can't refuse.
