Seiya Suzuki Sitting Out Sunday’s Matinee
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki is getting a rest day for Sunday's series finale against the Marlins. The 28-year-old had started 16 consecutive games, so he was simply due for a bit of maintenance. Suzuki is treading lightly with a quiet 11-for-51 stretch with no homers over the past two weeks of action. He's slashing a mediocre .259/.333/.358 with zero stolen bases as a whole this season. Fantasy managers aspire for Chicago's regular cleanup man to start hitting with a little more authority ahead of their upcoming series against the reeling Cardinals. They should stay patient with Suzuki, who missed all of spring training and the first two weeks of the regular season hampered by an oblique injury.
