Sandy Alcantara Tries To Get Back On Track Sunday
8 months agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara takes the mound for Sunday's start against the Washington Nationals. The 27-year-old just hasn't been able to get going in 2023, pitching to an ordinary 4.23 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 146 strikeouts over 176 2/3 innings. Alcantara struggled in his last chance versus Washington, surrendering five runs on 10 hits on June 16. The right-hander was awesome a year ago opposing the Nats, however, boasting a microscopic 0.90 ERA with 34 punchouts in 40 frames (five starts) during his Cy Young 2022. Fantasy managers may have a hard time trusting Alcantara on Sunday, but the hard-throwing righty is a strong play in this one.
