Sandy Alcantara Tagged For Five Runs Again
10 months agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara threw seven weak innings, permitting 10 hits, two walks, and five runs in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. The 27-year-old struck out six batters and took his sixth loss of the year. Alcantara's 2022 Cy Young hangover drags on, sacrificing 10 hits and five runs in consecutive outings. The right-hander has also surrendered five runs in three out of four June starts. Alcantara's changeup remains his Achilles heel after registering an MLB-best -25 run value with his go-to pitch last season. The fantasy disappointment carries a 5.08 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 78:29 K:BB through 95 2/3 innings this campaign. Alcantara looks to solve his drop-off during his next start scheduled on Tuesday against the scrappy Boston Red Sox lineup.
