6 months agoWashington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman (foot) ran the bases on Tuesday and will do so again on Wednesday. If he comes out of that without setbacks, the Nationals can start thinking about sending him on a rehab assignment. Zimmerman has been out since April 27 with plantar fasciitis and was hitting just .213/.302/.373 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 86 plate appearances before his injury. The 34-year-old has no business being on rosters in mixed leagues and will be in a platoon with Matt Adams at first base when he returns to the Nationals lineup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
