Paul Goldschmidt Crushes 17th Homer In Win
9 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 10-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 35-year-old hurt his former club in this one, initiating a huge Cardinals scoring output with a first-inning two-run goner. Goldschmidt then hit a ninth-inning RBI single to uncork a late five-run St. Louis surge. The 2022 NL MVP is slashing a prolific .285/.371/.473 with 17 homers, 53 RBI, 63 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 439 plate appearances in 2023. Goldschmidt has two more shots this series at his old D-backs team, who he's now punished for a .395 BA with five bombs and 14 RBI across 38 at-bats against since 2022.
