Paul Goldschmidt Aims To Keep Up Prolific Start
10 months agoThe St. Louis Cardinals and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt start their season's second half on Friday for a three-game set with the Washington Nationals. The 35-year-old has remained a fantasy stalwart in 2023, slashing .284/.369/.475 with 15 home runs, 46 RBI, and eight stolen bases over 341 at-bats. Goldschmidt has struggled mightily, however, versus Washington in recent years. He is hitting .188 with four homers, 11 RBI, and one swipe over 112 ABs against the Nationals since 2018. Goldschmidt's career .242 BA and .664 OPS opposing the Nats also signify his lowest figures vs. any NL club. The multi-time Silver Slugger should still be locked into daily fantasy lineups, but perhaps expectations could be slightly tempered considering these caveats.
