Nikola Jokic Iffy, Aaron Gordon Out Against Clippers
6 months agoDenver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (back) is questionable for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers due to lower-back pain, while forward Aaron Gordon (heel) has been ruled out with a right heel strain. Jokic hasn't missed a game yet this year, but it's worth noting that Monday is the second end of a back-to-back after Denver beat the San Antonio Spurs 132-120 on Sunday. Jokic, who is averaging 28.8 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 8.9 assists in 33.8 minutes over 17 games, would likely be spelled by a DeAndre Jordan spot start if he's unable to go, with Zeke Nnaji also figuring to enter the fray. With Gordon, who is averaging 13.1 points, 7.2 boards, and 2.0 combined steals and blocks in 33.9 minutes across 16 games, out for a second consecutive night, Justin Holiday and Peyton Watson will likely be tasked to soak up extra playing time on Monday. The Nuggets are back in action on Wednesday versus the Houston Rockets, which marks Gordon's next chance to play.
