Nick Lodolo Continuing Throwing Program
10 months agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Nick Lodolo (calf) played catch at the club's complex in Arizona recently. The 25-year-old embarked on a throwing program on July 3 as he slowly works his way back from a stress reaction in his left tibia. Lodolo has been out of action since early May with what was originally thought to merely be calf soreness before an MRI revealed something more significant. The southpaw is eligible for activation from the 60-day injured list in early August, but fantasy managers probably shouldn't expect him back until mid-to-late August. Lodolo's 6.29 ERA (34 1/3 innings) isn't pretty, but he should be stashed wherever possible with a promising 28.6% strikeout rate and 6.0% walk rate this campaign.
