Max Fried Completes Fourth Rehab Start
9 months agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried (forearm) tossed 4 1/3 innings with four strikeouts on 79 pitches during his fourth rehab appearance at Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. He allowed two runs on five hits and two walks. The statistical results are not as pivotal as Fried's simply being able to come away from his fourth rehab game according to plan. Fantasy managers may have almost reached the light at the end of the tunnel for the Braves ace's highly-anticipated return, which appears to be rather imminent. Fried last pitched in the bigs on May 5 after briefly coming back from a left hamstring strain in mid-April only to get shelved by a left forearm strain ever since. Although nothing has yet been made official, the 29-year-old figures to rejoin Atlanta's rotation at some point potentially during next weekend's three-game set against the Chicago Cubs. Fried returns to a 2.08 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 25 punchouts covering 26 frames this season.
