Mac Jones “Putting In Work” This Offseason
1 year agoNew England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was throwing to pass catchers on Tuesday, including new acquisition Mike Gesicki and Tyquan Thornton, among others. Jones, lauded for his work ethic by head coach Bill Belichick in the past, appears to be diligently getting a head start on offseason workouts, with trade rumors involving his name swirling around the league. After a promising Pro Bowl campaign as a rookie, the 24-year-old took a step back in 2022, even ceding signal-calling duties to Bailey Zappe at one point before eventually reclaiming his mantle. New England picks 14th overall in the 2023 draft, which is unlikely to snag them any of the consensus top-four quarterback prospects. Even with the Patriots supposedly out of the Lamar Jackson sweepstakes, Jones is still likely to be mostly off the radar in shallow redraft fantasy leagues, no matter where the field general is taking snaps in 2023.
