Luis Arraez Still Out Of Lineup With Sprained Ankle
2 months agoMiami Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez (ankle) remains out of Thursday's lineup for the series finale against the New York Mets with his sprained left ankle. It's rough timing for the 26-year-old to become hobbled with Miami pursuing the National League Wild Card's final spot, as Arraez has only played in two of the prior seven contests. The 2022 American League batting champion's pursuit for a .400 average may have fizzled long ago, but he's still on pace for his second straight hitting title at an MLB-best .353 BA to go with a career-high .860 OPS, 10 home runs, and 69 RBI. Xavier Edwards is handling the void at the keystone in Arraez's stead on Thursday, batting ninth versus left-hander David Peterson.
