Kyle Schwarber Homers Yet Again, Walks It Off In Win
10 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies left fielder Kyle Schwarber went yard for the third straight game, also going 2-for-5 with a walk-off sacrifice fly in Sunday's 7-6 win over the San Diego Padres. The 30-year-old belted a solo homer to kick-start Philadelphia's key four-run sixth inning. Schwarber then played the role of hero in extra innings, lifting a sac fly to left field to score the previously advanced "ghost runner" for a Phillies walk-off victory. The all-or-nothing slugger is slashing .189/.314/.444 with 25 round-trippers, 56 RBI, and 55 runs scored over 414 plate appearances this season. Schwarber could be looking forward to a three-game series starting Tuesday with the Milwaukee Brewers, who he owns a .265 BA with nine big flies and 23 RBI against in 37 games (117 at-bats) since 2019.
