Kyle Schwarber Drills Ninth Homer
2 weeks agoPhiladelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber launched his ninth home run of the 2024 regular season in Monday's 6-1 win over the visiting San Francisco Giants, adding a single and a walk in the victory. Schwarber's long ball came off the foul pole in right field in the eighth inning for an insurance run after an umpire review confirmed it left the yard. It's been nothing new out of Schwarber this year from a fantasy perspective, as the 31-year-old three-true-outcomes slugger is slashing .214/.323/.407 with the aforementioned nine homers, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored, and two stolen bases through 167 plate appearances (36 games) as Philly's everyday leadoff man. A two-game interleague set with the Toronto Blue Jays begins on Tuesday. In eight games versus Toronto as a member of the Phillies, Schwarber is batting a mere .129 (4-for-31) with one big fly, five RBI, and a swipe.
