Kyle Schwarber Continues Power Surge With Fourth Homer In Five Games
11 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-3 with a walk-off solo home run and two additional runs scored in the team's 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. The 30-year-old's bat has caught fire, going 8-for-26 with four big flies and eight RBI over his last seven outings. The hot streak has Schwarber back up to a .330 OBP and .775 OPS for the season, his highest figures since May 1. The 2022 Silver Slugger is also up to 17 bombs, tied for third in the NL, and 35 RBI this year. Hopefully fantasy managers are punting his ghastly .177 BA to really appreciate the slugging goodness. Schwarber has a chance to gain some ground on Pete Alonso's (hand) MLB-high 22 blasts while the New York Mets star is injured.
