Kevin Huerter 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoOn the heels of an impressive rookie campaign last season, Kevin Huerter enters the 2019-20 season as a legitimate late-round fantasy option. Huerter started 59 games for Atlanta last year, averaging a solid 9.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest. But where he displays his highest value is in category formats, as the 6-foot-7, 21-year-old averaged 1.8 made triples per game for the Hawks in ’18-19. While he has dealt with a sore knee during the preseason, Huerter is in line to receive both ample playing time at the off-guard spot, as well as an increased offensive workload in the second season under head coach Lloyd Pierce and alongside blossoming star point guard Trae Young. An increased field-goal percentage (41.9 last year) will be vital to his season-long prospects, but after having made multiple threes in 12 of his final 21 games after the All-Star break, Huerter is likely to find himself on fantasy rosters for the majority of the year.
