Jordan Romano Can't Finish Friday's Game Due To Back Issue
10 months agoToronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano (back) was unable to finish his ninth-inning appearance in Friday's 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. The 30-year-old was vying for save No. 29 before he was pulled from the game with lower-back discomfort after logging two outs. Romano ended up allowing two hits and one walk with one strikeout for his second hold of the year after Yimi Garcia relieved him, shutting the door for his third save of the year. Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Romano's back "locked up," causing his exit. Romano will be evaluated again on Saturday morning. It's a cause for concern after the 2023 All-Star's back also forced him from his All-Star Game appearance a few weeks ago. Garcia and Erik Swanson make for decent speculative fantasy waiver adds as we await the next update on Romano's setback.
