Jonathan India Begins Rehab Work, Set For Tuesday Return
8 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds sent second baseman Jonathan India (foot) for a quick rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville on Friday. The 26-year-old has been missing since late July due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot, but he is likely to be activated prior to Tuesday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers if all goes well. Cincy will welcome back India with open arms since infielder Matt McLain (oblique) is also injured. India is slashing a formidable .267/.354/.453 with 20 home runs, 77 RBI, and 12 stolen bases in 585 trips to the dish. Spencer Steer has been holding down the fort at the keystone in the meantime.
