Joey Gallo Ends 1-for-28 Slide With Two-Hit Effort
1 year agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/first baseman Joey Gallo went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI along with a walk and one run scored in the team's win over the San Diego Padres on Thursday. The 29-year-old hopes to put a brutal 1-for-28 slump since April 29 in the rearview mirror with the multi-hit performance. Perhaps the poster boy of "three-true-outcome" hitters, Gallo is only hitting .200 this year, but he also owns a .333 on-base percentage and a .538 slugging percentage. The two-time all-star trails only Matt Chapman in hard-hit rate with a scalding 63% clip. A build-specific fantasy commodity, Gallo signifies a worthy add off fantasy waivers for those punting the average category in leagues he may have dropped during his latest skid.
