Jimmy Butler Absent From Monday’s Practice
6 months agoMiami Heat forward Jimmy Butler (ankle) did not practice on Monday. Butler sat out the second leg of a back-to-back on Saturday against the Brooklyn Nets in what appeared to be a form of load management, but it seems that his right ankle sprain is still bothering him. Butler could ultimately end up as a game-time decision based on pregame warmups heading into Tuesday's In-Season Tournament game versus the Milwaukee Bucks, but we'll see if he is able to return to morning shootaround first. The 2022-23 Eastern Conference Finals MVP is averaging 20.7 points, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 threes this year, hovering right along the Round 3/4 border in 9-category fantasy value. Jaime Jaquez Jr., Josh Richardson, and Caleb Martin would all benefit minutes-wise if Butler is out again.
