Jaden McDaniels Shelved For Opener
7 months agoMinnesota Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels (calf) will not play in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Toronto Raptors. McDaniels is being deemed day-to-day due to a left calf strain, after bagging a five-year, $136 million extension with the Wolves on Tuesday. The 23-year-old was restricted to individual drills as of Sunday, so he apparently hasn't made enough progress in his recovery to play in the opener. Minnesota's home opener on Saturday marks McDaniels' next opportunity for a return to the court. Kyle Anderson feels like the most suitable candidate to round out head coach Chris Finch's starting five at the three Wednesday, with Shake Milton and Nickeil Alexander-Walker helping fill McDaniels' void.
